Austrian Institute of Technology

The AIT Austrian Institute of Technology is Austria’s largest non-university research institute. With its seven Centers, AIT regards itself as a highly specialised research and development partner for industry. AIT provides research and technological development to realize basic innovations for the next generation of infrastructure related technologies in the fields of Energy, Low-Emission Transport, Health & Bioresources, Digital Safety & Security, Vision, Automation & Control and Technology Experience. These technological research areas are supplemented by competence in Innovation Systems & Policy. With about 1450 employees, who are mostly based at the main facilities Vienna Giefinggasse, Seibersdorf, Wiener Neustadt, Ranshofen and Graz, AIT connects research and industry at national and international levels by providing new technologies and tools in response to society’s demands.

Role in the project

AIT is responsible for the coordination and management of the project (WP8). AIT has the lead also in the work packages on the Strategic Research & Innovation Agenda (SRIA, WP6) and on Ethics Requirements (WP9). AIT’s roles in other WPs include tasks on Stakeholder mapping, Establishing and installing the Open Repository, Roadmap creation, Designing and implementing DEC materials, and Dissemination via EIP-Agri channels.
